How to you identify different nail types?
The ProNails Gel range is designed to provide you as a nail stylist with a suitable sollution for any type of nail and for all your client's needs. As a nail stylist you should try to have at least a gel of each range to be able to handle any situation.
Choosing the right gel is done with the following criteria in mind:
- what is the type & condition of your client's nails?
- what is the desired end-result?
- what is your own experience level or prefered working method?

NORMAL NAILS

How to recognize normal nails?
- strong
- elastic
- smooth surface
- healthy appearance
What gels do you need?
You can use all gels on normal nails.

A repair gel is not necessary.

A camouflage gel can be used over the base gel in case your clients want a babyboom or french manicure. Normally this isn't even needed if your client has no nail bed imperfections.

As a primer we recommend to use the Acid Free Formula, which ensures perfect adhesion to normal nails.
DRY & BRITTLE NAILS

How to recognize dry & brittle nails?
- very hard
- thick or thin
- ridged surface
Who has dry & brittle nails?

most common with older clients
-
people who's hands are in frequent contact with water
-
women in hormonal imbalance after a pregnancy
What gels do you need?
You can use all gels on dry & brittle nails.

A repair gel is not necessarly needed.

If you want to mask nail bed imperfections, you can opt to use a camouflage gel inbetween your base gel and your builder gel.

As a primer we recommend to use the Acid Free Formula, which gives perfect adhesion to nearly all nail types, including dry & brittle nails.
GREASY NAILS

How to recognize greasy nails?
- naturally shiny
- oily look
Who has greasy nails?

Most common with younger clients, people with wet hands or due to hormonal changes: puberty, menopause or during pregnancy.
What gels do you need?

As a base gel we recommend the Base Perfect or the Flexi Base.

All Flexi Builders or Hard Builders can be used on your clients nails.

A camouflage gel can be used over the base gel in case your clients has nail bed imperfections and depending on the desired result.

As a primer we recommend to use the Universal Formula, which ensures perfect adhesion to greasy nails.
FLEXIBLE NAILS

How to recognize flexible nails?
- very thin
- bends easily
- sensitive
- softer / more elastic
Who has flexible nails?

Most common with younger clients, due to hormonal imbalance or dietary deficiency. And in some cases caused by over-filing by nail stylists!
DAMAGED NAILS

How to recognize damaged nails?
- very thin
- splitting
- red spots
What causes damaged nails?
-
Mostly caused by inapropriate nail treatment: over-filing by nail stylists!
What gels do you need?
-
As a base gel we recommend the Base Perfect or the Flexi Base.

All Hard Builders can be used on your clients nails.

You can also opt for using the Repair Fiber Force for highly damaged nails.

If you want to mask the nail bed of damaged nails, you can opt to use a camouflage gel in between your base gel and your builder gel.

As a primer we recommend to use the Acid Free Formula which ensures perfect adhesion to damaged nails.
SPOON NAILS

How to recognize spoon nails?
- in most cases this is present from birth
- or caused by a liver disorder
This type of nail is less common.
NAIL BITERS

How to recognize nail biters?
- short nail beds
- very damaged nails
What gels do you need?

All ProNails base & builder gels can be used.

To mask the nail bed of nail biters, using a camouflage gel is recommend.

Apply the camouflage gel after you apply the base gel and before you apply your builder gel.

Both primers can be used, depending on the type of nail the client has.
